Installing Door Hardware Simplified

Installing Door Hardware “Simplified”

Lee A. Garver DAHC, FDHI

Installing door hardware doesn’t have to be hard, it can be simple if the manufacturer’s installation instruction sheets are followed. Instruction sheets come standard in the original packaging, and usually discarded after installation, when that happens the step-by-step instruction process is lost.
Installing Door Hardware Simplified is now offered at www. Door Hardware Simplified.com and has been written as an installation guide showing step-by-step instructions for the installation of commercial door hardware; including, mortise and heavy duty cylindrical lock sets, rim and surface mounted vertical rod exit devices and surface mounted door closers.

Installing Door Hardware Simplified, the book has been written for all types of trade personnel including but not limited to: institutional locksmiths, hardware installers, contractors, distributors of commercial door hardware and their service providers, system integrators, and anyone who has the need to install, service or maintain commercial door hardware.

The graphics and illustrations used in the book Installing Door Hardware Simplified have been edited and enhanced to show specific steps and detailed explanations of each step necessary to install all the necessary components of each piece of door hardware. All too often the door hardware malfunctions as the result of improper installation, or accused of improper installation giving the manufacturer an opportunity to void the warranty. Installing Door Hardware Simplified will be the perfect publication to have on file as a ready reference when a condition pops up, and the installation process has to be reviewed or verified to correct it.

Installing Door Hardware Simplified has not been written to replace the original lock, exit device or door closer installation instructions or information as to how to install or maintain their products, rather it has been written to provide a guide to the critical steps necessary to install and maintain this type of commercial door hardware.
